London cycle hire scheme sponsor confirmed

Boris Johnson today confirmed Barclays as the sponsor of both the London cycle hire scheme and the previously announced Cycle Superhighways. Unveiling a Barclays branded TFL Roundel for the hire scheme, the Mayor announced a five-year, £25m deal with the bank which will give them branding rights to the two schemes.

London cycle hire pricing announced

The capital’s cycle hire scheme, which is scheduled to launch in summer 2010, will be free to use for the first half hour but will cost anyone wanting to use the service for more than 3 hours a minimum of £35 according to TfL.
