London Assembly members have heard there are significant logistical challenges in converting the capital’s hire bike scheme to a cheaper, more easily expanded dock-less system.
In 2014 Assembly Members were told by Isabel Dedring, transport deputy to Boris Johnson, that extending Oyster to the Santander Cycles scheme could boost usage by up to 25%.
Three attacks occurred in December 2015, January 2016 and March 2016 and involved attempts “to access customer accounts via the Scheme’s website and mobile app.”
Eight new docking stations installed adjacent to some of the park’s most popular attractions, including the London Aquatics Centre, Lee Valley VeloPark and the ArcelorMittal Orbit.
London’s entire fleet of 11,500 hire bikes is to be fitted with laser safety lights after a trial generated “overwhelmingly positive” feedback from users who said the lights made them feel safer.
