Santander Cycles brings route planning to smartphone app

First launched in May, the Santander Cycles app has been downloaded more than 120,000 times and also allows users to hire a bike by getting a ‘release code’ sent straight to their phone, saving them time at the on-street docking stations.

London’s cycle hire scheme gains new smartphone app

Available for Apple’s iPhone and handsets running Google’s Android operating system, the app also lets users hire a bike without having to use the docking station terminal, buy 24 hour and annual subscriptions and view recent journeys and charges.
