Local elections due to be held in May, including the contest to elect a new Mayor of London and London Assembly, have been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Earlier this week the Electoral Commission called for elections across the country to be halted amid fears that local councils could struggle to deliver them.
Although ministers initially appeared to push back, on Friday afternoon the Government confirmed that the elections due to be held on May 7th would be delayed until 2021.
