Cressida Dick returns to lead London’s Metropolitan police

Formerly the Met’s head of counter-terrorism, Dick currently works at the Foreign Office but will return to the force to take over from Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe as Britain’s most senior police officer.

Sadiq warns Government spending plans risk leaving Met Police “significantly” underfunded

In addition to its neighbourhood policing duties, the Met has to police protests, visits by overseas dignitaries and provide diplomatic protection. These national duties cost the force £345m per year but only around half of this is reimbursed by the Home Office.

Sadiq Khan confirms London’s ‘T-Charge’ will start in October

The charge will be levied on top of the Congestion Charge and will apply to any vehicle which does not meet Euro 4 standards, meaning drivers of such vehicles will pay a total of £21.50 for entering the congestion charge zone.

Two more central London bus routes to become all-electric

The new buses will enter service next spring on routes C1 and 70 and will take the total number of electric buses to 121. Both routes are operated by RATP and run between White City and Victoria and between South Kensington and Acton respectively.
