Diane Abbott, one of Labour’s mayoral hopefuls today told the Prime Minister that Londoners will expect City Hall to have “at least the same powers that are being devolved to the Northern Powerhouse”.

The Hackney MP has also secured an hour-and-a-half Commons debate on the capital’s air quality which will be held next Tuesday, giving MPs the chance to have their say on Boris Johnson’s plans to tackle pollution.
