Election bosses have confirmed that 12 candidates will stand in this year’s race to succeed Boris Johnson as Mayor of London.
Deadlines for nominations closed at 4pm on Thursday and the following entries have been accepted as valid:

The English Democrats’ prospective candidate, Winston McKenzie, has been barred from standing after failing to properly complete his nomination papers.
On Thursday evening London Elects, the body which oversees elections to City Hall, said: “Upon inspection, the incomplete forms contained errors which would have invalidated the nomination – in the form of duplicate signatures from other candidates’ nomination papers.”
In addition to the mayoral contest Londoners will also elect the 25 members of the London Assembly. 14 of the seats are fought on ‘first past the post’ constituencies with a further 11 allocated to parties based on their share of the vote in an all-London ballot.
In each of the elections held to date the constituency seats have been won by Labour and the Conservatives with smaller parties, including the Liberal Democrats, Greens and UKIP, winning seats via the London-wide ballot.
The list of parties standing on the London-wide list is:

Jeff Jacobs, the Greater London Returning Officer, said: “The Mayor and the London Assembly hold important and powerful roles.
“The winning Mayoral candidate will be responsible for issues that affect every Londoner – from transport and policing, to housing and the environment – with an annual budget of about £16billion.
“It’s up to the 5.8million Londoners who are eligible to vote to make a decision on who will run the capital for the next four years.
“Our website www.londonelects.org.uk tells you who is standing in your area and what the Mayor and London Assembly Members are responsible for. Remember also to look out for the booklet coming through your letter box in April.”
All 5.8 million registered voters will receive an information booklet with a ‘mini-manifesto’ from 10 of the Mayoral candidates, the full list of Assembly candidates and information about how to vote.
Mayoral candidates wishing to be included are required by law to contribute £10,000 towards the booklet’s cost and London Elects says Zylinski and Love declined to do so.
