The number of accessible bus stops has increased to almost 60% according to passenger watchdog London TravelWatch.
Transport for London’s own 2010/11 audit suggested 52% of stops were accessible, however TravelWatch says the level has since increased to 58.2%.
Chair Sharon Grant said: “We have spent several years campaigning on the issue of accessible bus stops so it is pleasing to see a jump in the numbers reported as being accessible.”
The watchdog has published its latest report on the performance of TfL services between July and September 2011.
The report shows that overall, the performance was good with improvements to bus reliability on busy routes.
