TfL open additional coach bays

November 25, 2008 by Staff

Transport for London has introduced three new, on-street coach parking facilities after consultation with the tourism trade identified greater need by the coach industry.

The three bays are located in Bridge Place, just behind Victoria Station, the west side Millbank, near to the Tate Britain and the east side of Millbank, where coaches are now permitted to park free of charge for up to one hour.

In addition, two existing loading bays, one in Buckingham Palace Road and the other outside The Grosvenor House Hotel have had their hours extended and can now be used 24 hours a day.

TfL’s Managing Director of Surface Transport, David Brown said the capita’s transport authority “recognise the valuable contribution coaches make to London’s economy and are keen to further improve the situation for coaches in the Capital by working with key stakeholders such as the boroughs.”

According to TfL figures there are over 3,000 coach journeys in the Capital every day.
