Stratford City Shortlist Announced

August 11, 2006 - Staff

The Olympic Delivery Authority yesterday announced the shortlisting of three developers for the Stratford City development, which will provide the housing for athletes for the 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.

The three – Bouygues, Lend Lease and the Royal Bank of Scotland – are all major development consortiums with a track record in large scale projects.

David Higgins, ODA Chief Executive, said the announcement was “good news for east London and for the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.”

Higgins promised that the development “will be a power for positive change, bringing improved job opportunities, homes and making the most of the greatly improved transport links now under construction.”

Under a timetable set down by the ODA construction is to start on site in 2007 with completion expected “in good time for the 2012 Games.”
