Skills and Employment Board Appointments

December 5, 2006 by Staff

Mayor of London Ken Livingstone has announced the appointments to the new Skills and Employment Board which is mandated to tackle London-wide issues on skills and employment.

The Mayor, who will chair the board, last month announced the appointment of Harvey McGrath to the role of vice chair.

The Mayor said his appointments brought together “a wealth of talent and expertise in the fields of business and education which will be vital to deliver world class training and skills in London.”

The appointments were welcomed by Education and Skills Secretary Alan Johnson who said the capital needed “world class skills and we want employers to be centre stage securing the right skills for the economy.”
