Royal Wedding rubbish auctioned in support of Centrepoint

May 6, 2011 - Martin Hoscik@MayorWatch

Twenty boxes of Royal Wedding rubbish are being auctioned
Twenty boxes of Royal Wedding rubbish collected from the capital’s streets are being auctioned by entertainments venue Altitude London in support of Centrepoint, the homeless charity of which Prince William is patron.

As soon as the wedding was over, a team from Altitude London hurried over to Buckingham Palace where they scoured the immediate vicinity for suitable discarded memorabilia.

The fruits of their labours – Union Jack flags, sweet wrappers, newspapers and other intrinsically British junk – were then artistically arranged as mini instillations in beautifully branded Perspex boxes to form a unique keepsake of big day.

“We are really excited about this idea”, says Peter Kerwood, Altitude London’s Marketing Director.

“Not only will 20 bidders get the chance to own a truly original and unique piece of Royal Wedding memorabilia, but they’ll also help raise much needed funds for a great cause.”
