Paddick Launches Campaign

January 14, 2008 by Staff

Liberal Democrat Mayoral Candidate Brian Paddick has launched his new campaign website and unveiled the aspirations he hopes will take him to victory in May’s elections.

In a series of uncosted promises Paddick promises to “allow unlimited changes of bus within an hour for the price of one journey on an Oyster card” and vowing to keep “the Mayor’s contribution to the council tax down by cutting waste at City Hall to get better value for taxpayers’ money.”

Launching his campaign in Brixton Town Hall today Mr Paddick was accompanied by Liberal Democrat Leader Nick Clegg as he promised not to stand for re-election if he failed to bring down crime in the capital.

Paddick said: “I have a track record of performance against Londoners’ number one concern: crime. Ken Livingstone has said he cannot do anything about gun and knife crime. Boris Johnson has admitted he doesn’t have the experience to deal with it. It’s time for someone who can stop the slaughter on our streets.”
