Norris Blasts Livingstone’s Transport Claims.

May 26, 2004 by Staff

The Conservative Mayoral Candidate, Steve Norris claims "Ken Livingstone is living in a fantasy world" following the launch of Livingstone’s Transport Manifesto.

"Both Livingstone and Blair promised to improve transport in London in their last election manifestos and we are still waiting. There is not the slightest evidence that he will get any extra cash to spend on the London underground. He still has to be bailed out of his disastrous bus policy over the past four years he has wasted hundreds of millions on crackpot schemes that are going nowhere and he has appointed Bob Crow to the Board of Transport for London. The idea that this man can deliver real transport improvement is laughable."

Mr Livingstone had earlier claimed that his first-term initiatives had proven a success with Londoners and promised to continue to support the big London transport improvements "such as Crossrail and the East London Line".
