Hearing and speech-impaired Londoners can now get help during a medical or other emergency thanks to a new text message based service.
Those wishing to take part in the ’emergencySMS’ scheme must pre-register their mobile phone at www.emergencysms.org.uk. The scheme is being backed by the capital’s Ambulance service and other emergency services.
For details of how to contact 999 if you have a speech or hearing impairment visit the London Ambulance service website.
