Londoners are being invited to discover the capital’s ‘hidden treasures’ when 10 museums and galleries along the London Overground’s East London Line join forces next month to stage the CultureLine Summer Discovery Weekend.
Between Friday 6 – Sunday 8 August 2010 Londoners will be able to enjoy programme of exhibitions, costumed characters, guided walks and live music celebrating local history, international contemporary art and engineering masterpieces.
Highlights of the weekend include the chance to see George Washington’s false teeth and find out more about the Elephant Man at the Royal London Hospital Museum, a look at how suffragettes used the postal system during their campaign for the vote at the Women’s Library and a guided tour of one of London’s most iconic lost buildings, the Crystal Palace.
