MPA appoints new DACs

The Metropolitan Police Authority yesterday announced the appointment of four new Deputy Assistant Commissioners to the Met.

Commander Sue Akers, Organised Crime and Criminal networks MPS; Acting DAC Rod Jarman, Territorial Policing MPS; and T/Deputy Chief Constable Lynne Owens, Surrey Police have all been appointed with immediate effect.

The fourth, Commander Stuart Osborne, National Coordinator of Terrorist Investigations MPS, will be appointed when a position becomes available.

MPA Vice Chair Kit Malthouse, who led the selection panel, said: “All applicants were of a high calibre, and impressed the panel with their strategic and tactical knowledge, and policing experience. We expect them to use their skills, expertise and professionalism to deliver efficient and effective policing for the people of London.”
