Met Accused of Bugging MP Khan

London’s Metropolitan Police have been accused of bugging Sadiq Khan, Labour MP for Tooting during visits to a constituent in Woodhill Prison.

According to today’s Sunday Times officers from Scotland Yard’s anti-terrorist recorded conversations between Mr Khan and Babar Ahmad on two occasions in 2005 and 2006.

Justice Secretary Jack Straw, who has ordered am immediate investigations, said it was “completely unacceptable for an interview to be conducted by a MP on a constituent matter or in any other issue to be recorded.”

Scotland Yard has refused to comment on the claims.
