March 15, 2010 by Martin Hoscik

The Mayor will use this year's MIPIM conference to promote London's investment opportunities
Boris Johnson will be travelling to Cannes today where he will address the MIPIM property conference on the capital’s approach to city planning.

City Hall says that with the UK emerging slowly from recession the Mayor will use his speech to promote investment opportunities the capital including in East London in the build up to the 2012 Games.

Aides say that during his “short stay” the Mayor will open the London Stand, hold meetings with developers and investors and greet cyclists from the Cycle to Cannes (C2C) charity challenge.

Ahead of his trip the Mayor said: “The future for London is spectacularly bright and in my short time at MIPIM I will be taking every opportunity to shout from the roof tops that it is simply the best city in the world to invest in right now. The 2012 Games are approaching fast and there is huge investment in the capital’s infrastructure, resulting in numerous business opportunities. Investors are simply spoilt for choice in the range of opportunities that we are offering and it’s getting better all the time. I’ll be telling those investors and developers at every opportunity that London is open for business”.
