Kit Malthouse, London’s Deputy Mayor for Policing and Vice Chair of the Metropolitan Police Authority, has welcomed the appointed of Alan Johnson to the role of Home Secretary.
In a statement issued this evening by City Hall, Malthouse said: ‘I would like to congratulate the Rt. Hon. Alan Johnson MP on his appointment as the Secretary of State for the Home Department”
“We hope this appointment will bring a much needed renewed leadership to the Home Office. Looking ahead, we look forward to working with the new Home Secretary to deliver on priorities that really matter to Londoners like tackling serious violent crime, expanding rape crisis provision, addressing the proliferation of weapon dogs, and reducing bureaucracy for our police officers.”
