Londoners to help shape future of policing

December 19, 2012 by Martin Hoscik

Londoners will be able to have their say on the future of policing.
Londoners will be able to have their say on the future of policing.
The Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) is to hold a series of public meetings next year as part of its consultation on a new Police and Crime Plan.

The plan, which will be published in final form by April 2013, is part of the Mayor’s new policing responsibilities and sets out the crime reduction strategy for London for the next four years.

In January and February Stephen Greenhalgh, Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime, and senior Metropolitan Police officers will host one meeting per London borough where they will discuss the current draft plan and invite the audience to ask questions.

Members of the the public and other stakeholders will be able to pre-register for the events from Friday 21 December 2012 at www.london.gov.uk.

An online consultation on the draft plan will be available from January 7th at london.gov.uk.
