Londoners set to quiz Johnson

Londoners will have the opportunity to question Boris Johnson on his first year as Mayor and his plans for the next 12 months at the annual State of London debate later today.

Mayor Johnson will be joined by a number of senior aides and advisors as he reports back to Londoners.

The day will start with an opening address by the Mayor followed by questions from the public. There will also be sessions and debates ith senior figures in business, London government and representatives from local government.

Speakers include London Assembly Chair Darren Johnson, Kulveer Ranger, the Mayor’s Director of Transport Policy, Cllr Merrick Cockell, Chairman of London Councils and Leader of Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and Baroness Jo Valentine, Chief Executive of London First.

Speaking ahead of the day’s events the Mayor said one of his “top priorities for the coming year is to ensure the capital emerges strong and resilient from the economic downturn.”

The Mayor recently published his Annual Report which can be downloaded from london.gov.uk/mayor/publications/
