London TravelWatch publishes annual review

October 15, 2010 by Staff

London TravelWatch is an independent body representing passengers in the capital
Passenger Watchdog London TravelWatch this week published its annual review of the work it has carried out behalf of public transport users in the capital.

The review is available to download from the TravelWatch website and has been published just weeks after a row between the watchdog and London Assembly politicians over the organisation’s fate.

A recent London Assembly review of TravelWatch recommended scrapping the organisation and that Assembly Members on the Transport Committee take over most of its functions.

Announcing Tuesday’s publication of the review, TravelWatch Chair Sharon Grant said the organisation “has worked extremely hard this year to put forward the passenger view during difficult times for the transport industry. London’s transport system is a complex one, with the interaction between rail, tube and bus, in particular, of huge importance to those travelling in London.

“We ensure passengers’ voices are heard at all stages and pay constant attention to the everyday experience of the travelling public.”
