The Redness of Boris Johnson burns bright.
And yet amidst all the speculation over his ambition to lead the Tories party from Downing Street, no-one ever seems to notice that Boris is busy building a legacy that mirrors the popular caricature of his predecessor.
For years I’ve been telling fans of both that there’s not much difference between them, the evidence in favour of my claim seems to grow ever greater.
ASLEF shrugged says
Police numbers went up under Ken and the crime rate dropped. He brought in the Congestion Charge at a time when even the Standard was demanding that something be done about the problem. He reduced bus fares and saw a boom in passenger numbers, he gave us London Overground along with ordering new trains for the Sub Surface and Victoria Lines.
Ken left us things that benefited London because he knew what London needed, Boris only thinks he does.
Boris isn’t red, he’s not even a blueish shade of purple.
