Hughes Broadcast To Focus On Crime

Liberal Democrat London Mayoral candidate, Simon Hughes, today unveils a powerful Election Broadcast to be screened on Thursday 20th May.

In it Hughes will be endorsed by Stuart Robe, father of the murdered 17 year old, Jamie Robe.

Jamie Robe was murdered on a main road in Hughes’s constituency but police were unable to persuade witnesses to come forward. Mr Hughes made a public appeal alongside Jamie’s family and whcih eventually led to the conviction of several people.

Mr Hughes then had to be placed under 24-hour police guard after a contract was taken out on his life.

The Hughes campaign broadcast also reveals that he was a prosecutor for the Met Police before becoming an MP.
