Businesses and property owners looking to cash in on the Olympics are being invited to attend the first of a new series of HM Revenue & Customs organised Local Business Advice Open Days which get underway in Stratford on July 6th.
Last year more than 10,000 businesses attended one of HMRC’s open days and the government agency is hoping the latest run of events will attract equally large numbers of businesses looking for advice.
Seminars at the Stratford even include competing for commercial opportunities around London 2012; what you need to do if you receive an income from letting out your property, and using HMRC’s online services.
HMRC say there will also be sessions on health and safety, employer relations and VAT special schemes.
Roger Lovell, Business Liaison Team Leader, HMRC said: “These are challenging economic times and it can be difficult to find the time to visit or contact all the organisations you need to.
“The Stratford BAOD brings a wealth of information all under one roof. It’s designed to be an informal and relaxed day, and people who have attended our events elsewhere have told us that they find it useful. They leave better informed and encouraged to continue in their success.
“We are committed to bringing our Local BAODs to more locations than ever this year and we look forward to supporting and assisting the many enterprising and successful businesses in the area, especially as we approach the 2012 Games.”
The Stratford BAOD takes place on Wednesday, 6 July at 66 Club Suite, West Ham United, Boleyn Ground, Green Street, Upton Park. The event runs from 9.15am to 5pm.
Visitors may attend the main exhibition at any time but seminar places need to be booked in advance.
