The High Court has frozen the decision to suspend Ken Livingstone from office pending a full appeal.
Last week the Adjudication Panel for England ruled Mr Livingstone brought his office into disrepute with comments he made to a reporter and suspended him from office for four weeks.
Mr Livingstone is now free to continue in office until the appeal is heard.
