Greens Support Operation Black Vote

May 14, 2004 by Staff

Green Party Mayoral Candidate Darren Johnson will be attending the poster launch of Operation Black Vote later today.

Speaking ahead of the event Mr Johnson said: "It is important that ordinary Londoners vote in the Mayoral, Assembly and European Elections. We are all facing a threat from the British National Party who are trying to make race an issue in these elections. We must not let this happen and the only way to stop them is by registering a vote.

However, if the BNP are intent on inciting race hatred in these elections as they have done in other elections’ they should be sent to prison not sent to City Hall."
