March 20, 2008 - Staff

For the second year running the Greater London Authority (GLA) has been named of the UK’s Top Employers in a report published by the Corporate Research Foundation, a panel of business journalists, analysts, trade associations and international publishers.

The foundation judges employers on a range of issues including pay , staff development, innovation, diversity and their environmental record to arrive at a list of the top 77 organisations from a shortlist of almost 2000 employers.

GLA Chief Executive, Anthony Mayer, said: “It is great news that the Greater London Authority has been recognised for the second year running as one of the best organisations in the UK to work for.”

“I am especially pleased that the Authority has been particularly noted for its efforts to encourage diversity in its workforce as this is one of the key values of the Authority – to have a workforce which reflects the diverse communities in London.”

“We will continue to work with our employees to develop our staff and our working practices to make the Greater London Authority an even better place to work.”
