The commemorative sheet is on sale from today
Royal Mail is marking the London Eye’s tenth anniversary with a special Commemorative Sheet of stamps which goes on sale from today.

The sheet of 10 first class Union Flag stamps features images spanning the Eye’s life, including sketches, construction as well as views from the finished attraction’s capsules which have so far carried over 38 million visitors.

David Sharpe, Divisional Director at London Eye owner Merlin Entertainments, said the attraction had become “the most iconic landmark in the Capital” over the past decade and said the firm “hope that fans enjoy the 10th birthday commemorative stamps to celebrate this milestone.”

As well as becoming on of the capital’s most popular tourist attractions, the London Eye has become a major part of London’s annual New Year celebrations as well as a poplar filming location for movies and TV shows. Last year Merlin Entertainments opened a ‘4D Experience’ featuring 3D film, sound and physical effects to give visitors a tour of the sky around the Eye.

Philip Parker, Royal Mail Stamps spokesperson said: “This Commemorative Stamp Sheet, celebrates the 10th anniversary of this hugely popular visitor attraction; combining superb photographs with the story behind this magnificent feat of precision engineering.”

Priced £13.50 the Sheet is available from 400 Post Offices and can also be ordered online at www.royalmail.com/stamps and by phone 08457 641 641
