Christmas 2010 congestion charge changes

December 17, 2010 by Martin Hoscik

The congestion charge zone will be suspended over Christmas
As in past years, the London Congestion Charge will be suspended over the festive period, allowing drivers free access to the charging zone between Saturday 25 December until Monday 3 January inclusive.

When the scheme re-opens Tuesday 4 January 2011 the Western Extension Zone will cease to operate and drivers living in the former Zone will no longer quality for their resident discount.

The recommencement of charging on the 4th will also see the daily cost of entering the zone increase from £8 to £10, although drivers who register for a Congestion Charge Auto Pay account will be eligible for a reduced charge of £9 per day.

Motorists can pre-register for a CC Auto Pay account at www.cclondon.com, registration is subject to £10 charge for each vehicle on the account.
