Capital’s 5.8m voters to receive Mayoral manifestos

April 18, 2012 by Martin Hoscik

The booklet is distributed by London Elects
Over the next few days voters will receive a copy of the official London election booklet containing information about the May 3rd City Hall election and a mini-manifesto from each Mayoral candidate.

The booklet is distributed to the capital’s 5.8m voters by London Elects, the official body which oversees elections to City Hall.

It also contains a list of all London Assembly candidates, details of what the Mayor and London Assembly do and information on how to vote.

Copies are available in large print, Braille or audio on request and a digital copy is also available online at www.londonelects.org.uk.

Greater London Returning Officer, John Bennett, said: “Londoners will soon make a choice which will affect the way their capital is run for the next four years.

“They’ll elect a Mayor with an annual budget of around £14billion and the 25 London Assembly Members who act as the eyes and ears of Londoners and make sure the Mayor delivers on his promises.

“These people make decisions which affect your everyday life in London, so voters should look out for our booklet, which will help them make that important choice. Make sure you know how to vote so you can have your say on 3rd May.”
