Boris Johnson has appointed a new advisor to help identify cuts in costs and “create efficiencies” within the Greater London Authority group.
Nicholas Griffin, who has 25 year career at major companies including Deloitte, Ernst & Young and Price Waterhouse, is to advise the Mayor on potential cuts in costs within the Metropolitan Police Authority, Transport for London, London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority and London Development Agency.
Griffin will take up the post of Advisor on Budgets and Performance, which is reported to attract a salary of £127,784, on 12th April 2010.
Announcing the appointment Mayor Johnson said: “Nicholas is a highly experienced individual and has an outstanding pedigree in corporate life. We would be hard-pressed to find anyone better qualified to bring out the best in City Hall and the other members of the GLA family.”
Mr Griffin said he was “very much looking forward to working across such a wide range of issues and high quality projects to ensure that we deliver the Mayor’s vision as effectively and efficiently as possible.”
