Video: State of London debate
Londoners from all backgrounds have been attending the annual State of London debate at the QEII conference centre in central London.
The event, required to be held each year, is Boris Johnson’s second since taking office and offers the Mayor the opportunity to bring Londoners up to date with his actions over the past year and his plans for the 12 months ahead.
Newly elected London Assembly Chair Darren Johnson presided over the opening session which also saw members of the public chance to question the Mayor on his policies.
Questioned by the audience, Mayor Johnson admitted his administration had overlooked the issue of increasing powers for Police Community Support Officers.
