Transport for London has announced BLLQ LLP – a partnership between Barratt London and London & Quadrant – as its preferred partner to redevelop a 1.8 acre site located opposite Blackhorse Road London Overground station.

In March Mayor Sadiq Khan announced that the site, currently used as a car park, would be used to provide approximately 350 new homes – 50 per cent of which will be affordable.

Graeme Craig, Director of Commercial Development for TfL said: “This site on Forest Road is a key part of bringing an exciting new neighbourhood to life in the heart of Waltham Forest.

“We are thrilled to be working with BLLQ LLP to deliver hundreds of homes for Londoners with excellent transport links and just a short journey from central London.

“Half of the homes will be affordable and we’ll also be generating much needed revenue to invest back into the transport network.”

Matt Calladine, Regional Land & Development Director, Barratt London, said: “The TfL car park at Blackhorse Road Station is an important development site in the context of the wider regeneration of this area.

“We are looking forward to working closely with TfL, the London Borough of Waltham Forest and local stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high quality homes and new commercial facilities that will benefit the entire community.”

Andy Rowland, Regional Managing Director – East Region at L&Q, said: “We are delighted to be working with TfL to deliver hundreds of new homes on the Blackhorse Road site, with half of the homes being genuinely affordable to Londoners on average and lower incomes.

“The project forms part of an exciting wider redevelopment of the area and will sit proudly in a thriving new neighbourhood a short journey from central London.”

Subject to TfL and BLLQ securing the necessary permissions, work is hoped to commence in 2019.
