Bangladeshi Theatre Season Enters 6th Year

June 17, 2008 - Staff

Residents in Tower Hamlets are to be treated to a selection of performances as ‘A Season of Bangla Drama’ returns to the Borough’s Brady Arts & Community Centre this July.

Now in its sixth year the season is organised by Tower Hamlets Council’s Arts and Events Team and includes performances from six local drama groups who will perform over four consecutive weekends from Saturday 5 July.

Councillor Rofique U Ahmed, Lead Member for Culture, Tower Hamlets Council said: “A Season of Bangla Drama gives local people the chance to find out what Bangla Drama is all about. Whether you’re already a fan of Bengali entertainment or you’re looking for an alternative to a Saturday night in front of the TV, this is a great way to spend your evening.”

The shows will range from dramatic performances bringing to life age-old Bengali stories to modern-day tales.

All performances are ticketed events. Tickets can be booked from the box office at The Brady Arts Centre on 020 7364 7900.
