Members of the London Assembly are to quiz officials from Transport for London over the “chaos” caused by the capital’s transport network failing to cope with Monday’s bad weather.
A special meeting of the London Assembly Transport Committee will be held on Thursday 12 February from 10am in The Chamber at City Hall.
Chair of the Committee Val Shawcross AM said: “Although it’s unrealistic to expect the network to be perfect during such extreme and unusual weather conditions, Londoners will want to know if more could have been done to maintain transport services.”
Caroline Pidgeon,, committee vice chair and Liberal Democrat Assembly Transport spokesperson, commented: “Basic questions need to be asked, such as why some underground lines were able to stay open, when others closed or had such a pitiful service?”
