Assembly quizzes LDA bosses over additional land costs

London's City HallThe London Assembly will tomorrow quiz both the London Development Agency Chair and Chief Executive on the extra funds needed to secure land for the Olympic site.

According to an independent report published by KPMG last week the cost of acquiring the land will be nearly £160 million higher than originally allowed for.

The London Assembly Economic Development, Culture, Sport and Tourism (EDCST) Committee will be quizzing Harvey McGrath, Chair, London Development Agency and Peter Rogers, Chief Executive, London Development Agency to find out how the extra costs arose, and the implications for the Agency’s programmes.

Following this session, the Committee will continue its investigation into whether the Mayor is delivering the right skills and training to help growing numbers of unemployed Londoners back into work.

The EDCST Committee meeting will take place on Tuesday 15 September from 10am in Committee Room 5 at City Hall.
