A party dedicated to opposing the Congestion Charge has announced its candidate for the 2008 Mayoral Elections.
The Stop Congestion Charging Party has selected Chris Prior as its candidate and promises to scrap the London Congestion Charge in the event that he wins the election.
Mr Prior said “the conventional wisdom is that the election is about personalities. For us the congestion charge is the “personality”, it is something that most people know about and have a view on.”
The party says its “core support comes from the millions who pay the charge and the hundreds of thousands who have been fined. Our broader support comes from those who are fed up with failing government and want proper solutions to real problems.”
