Members of the London Assembly Economic Development, Culture, Sport and Tourism (EDCST) Committee will tomorrow look at how tickets for the 2012 Olympics are to be distributed.

Assembly Members will be questioning Frances Done, former Chief Executive of Manchester 2002, and Paul Newman, Head of Ticketing at The O2 about the lessons which to be learnt about ticketing from other high-profile events.

The committee is expected to focus on issues such as whether tickets will be affordable for families and the proportion of tickets reserved for sponsors and corporate hospitality.

The Assembly’s scrutiny of ticketing for the games comes ahead of the expected publication later this year of the official ticketing strategy by the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.

The meeting, which takes place on Wednesday, 24th February from 2.30pm in Committee Room 5 at City Hall, is open to the public.
