Alan Craig Christian Peoples Alliance / Christian Party Mayoral Candidate (2008)

February 24, 2008 - Staff

Alan Craig is the joint Mayoral candidate for the Christian Peoples Alliance and The Christian Party.

Mr Craig has spent 25 years living and doing Christian work in Canning Town, one of the most deprived neighbourhoods in the capital. Craid says this gives him an understanding of how poverty grips people and how crime impacts communities such as Newham, where he lives with his family.

As well as leading the Christian Peoples Alliance nationally he also leads the CPA councillors on Newham Borough Council. he is known for taking a bold Christian stand against such threats as gun and knife crime in our inner cities and opposes the the regional London casino planned for Newham.

Mr Craig says his experience of running a major separates him from other candidates. Since taking an MBA at Manchester Business School his career has seen him become chief executive of a multi-million pound international group of manufacturing
companies, responsible for employing 2,500 people.

After converting to Christ in his late 20s, Mr Craig moved to the East End of London and where he has committed himself to running an after-care home for young offenders on their release from prison and was previously Alan was director of the Mayflower Family Centre in Canning Town, founded by Bishop David Shepherd.
