Transport for London has been given the go-ahead by Brent Council for a new housing development which will see 454 new homes built near Wembley Park Tube Station.
The homes, 40 per cent of which will be made available on affordable terms such as shared ownership and Mayor Sadiq Khan’s London Affordable Rent standard, are being delivered in partnership with Barratt London and will include a mixture of studio, one, two and three-bedroom properties.
TfL says the development will deliver a number of environmental, economic and social benefits, including green and biodiverse roofs, cycle parking, the planting of new trees and hedges, and wildlife-friendly landscaping such as bird boxes and bee bricks.
The homes have been designed to reduce energy usage by maximising the amount of natural light within them.
Emma Hatch, Senior Property Development Manager at TfL, said: “We are thrilled to get the go-ahead for our development at Wembley, which will deliver hundreds of new homes as well as a new retail opportunity and improvements for the local community.
“This is the second project with Barratt London and builds on our track record for delivering much-needed new homes in the capital.
“Our first homes at Blackhorse View in Waltham Forest started selling earlier this year, showing our developments have been designed thoughtfully with both the community and residents in mind.”
