2006 Final Draft Budget Approved.

The London Assembly today unanimously supported the Mayor’s budget proposals for additional funding for the police.

On the final day of negotiations on the Mayor’s annual proposals Assembly Members voted on each substantive component of the budget:

The result of each vote was:

Metropolitan Police Authority
For 25 votes

London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority
For 10 votes (Labour, Green Party and one Member of One London)
Against 14 votes (Conservative and Liberal Democrats)
Abstention 1 (one Member of One London)

Greater London Authority
For 9 votes (Labour, Green Party)
Against 16 votes (Conservative, Liberal Democrats and One London)

Transport for London
For 9 votes (Labour, Green Party)
Against 16 votes (Conservative, Liberal Democrats and One London)

London Development Agency
For 23 votes (Conservative, Labour, Liberal Democrats, Green Party)
Against 2 votes (One London)

No amendment to the budget reached the minimum two-thirds majority so the final draft consolidated budget for 2006-2007 was automatically approved.
