Police Seize 250,000GBP of Cocaine

August 15, 2006 - Staff

Approximately 1 kilo of uncut cocaine was seized today by officers from Haringey’s Proactive Drugs Unit.

The drugs, with a street value of approx £250,000, were recovered from a suspect’s bedroom after officers executed a search warrant under Misuse Drugs Act 1971 at an address in St. Anns Road N15.

The suspect was remanded in custody today at Haringey Magistrates’ Court charged with possession with intent to supply the cocaine.

Detective Sergeant Ian Baker of the Proactive Drugs Unit, said raid was “an intelligence led operation that produced a fantastic result preventing a huge amount of cocaine hitting the streets of Haringey.”

“Drug search warrants are being executed every day in Haringey and this would not be possible with out the help of the core teams and safer neighbourhood teams who support the proactive drugs unit.”
