ODA Publish Draft Equality and Diversity Strategy

January 21, 2007 - Staff

The Olympic Delivery Authority is seeking comments on its draft Equality and Diversity Strategy which has been published for consultation.

The strategy sets out how equality and diversity principles will be incorporated into the project, including the design and delivery of the venues, infrastructure and transport associated with the construction of the Olympic Park.

It also sets out how the principles of equality and diversity will be built into the business and employment opportunities generated during the construction phase of the Games and how it will be an integral part of the ODA’s community engagement programme.

Launching the consultation ODA Chief Executive David Higgins said the organisation was “committed to ensuring that the principles of equality and diversity are central to the delivery of the Olympic Park and its facilities.”

Higgins said the ODA would be “designing a highly accessible Park and will promote race, disability and gender equality throughout our supply chain and in our community engagement activity around the project. ”
