London Mayor Sadiq Khan has given the go-ahead for Night Tube services to start on the Jubilee Line following last weekend’s successful launch on the Central and Victoria Lines.

Starting from October 7th trains will run 24 hours at weekends, making it easier for Londoners to travel home after events at key attractions, including The O2, Wembley Stadium and Stratford, along the line.

Over 100,000 people used the Night Tube on its first weekend and the service is expected to help boost the capital’s night time economy and support thousands of new jobs.

Mayor Sadiq Khan, said: “I was determined to get the Night Tube up and running as soon as possible, and I’m delighted the Jubilee Line will now begin on 7 October.

“There was huge excitement at the launch of the Central and Victoria Lines last Friday, and it’s already having a beneficial impact on our Night Time economy.

“I will continue to work closely with British Transport Police, TfL staff and Londoners across our city to ensure the roll-out of the Night Tube continues to be a success, and we unlock the full potential of London’s exciting night time economy.”

Mark Wild, London Underground’s Managing Director, added: “The Night Tube is another important step in the modernisation of London Underground, designed to make life easier for our customers.

“As well as the new Night Tube services, we’re also introducing new Night bus routes and taxi ranks to help people complete their journeys home.”
