Mayor marks London’s Eid celebrations

Ken Livingstone has issued a message of goodwill to mark the month of Ramadan and the celebrations of Eid-ul-Fitr.

The Mayor’s message of goodwill reads: "I am delighted to send my best wishes to London’s Muslim communities on the joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

The month of Ramadan and the festival of Eid-ul-Fitr are timely reminders to people of all faiths of the importance of peace, love, compassion for others, unity and charity."

The Mayor has also praised the "major contribution" London’s Muslim community makes to the to economic, social and cultural fabric of the capital.
