The Congestion Charge is to be reinstated next week and will rise from £11.50 per day to £15 from next month.

City Hall and Transport for London had suspended both the C-Charge and Ultra Low Emission Zone as part of their response to the coronavirus shutdown.

As well as increasing the Congestion Charge, the scheme’s hours of operation will be extended to 7am to 10pm, seven days a week, from 22 June, a move intended to deter Londoners from making “unnecessary” car journeys.

NHS and care home staff who work in the Congestion Charge zone will continue to benefit from the Congestion Charge reimbursement scheme.

A wider review of the charge has been agreed as part of the emergency funding deal agreed with the Government announced today.
