Johnson Makes TfL Board Appointments

June 11, 2008 - Staff

Mayor of London Boris Johnson yesterday appointed Chief of Staff Tim Parker, Stephen Norris and Kulveer Ranger to the board of Transport for London. Mr Parker has also been nominated, subject to confirmation by the London Assembly, to be the Chair of the board from 1 September 2008.

Existing members Sir Mike Hodgkinson, Judith Hunt, Christopher Garnett and Eva Lindholm have been re-appointed for a period of 2 months.

Speaking yesterday Mr Johnson said his appointees “each bring a great deal of expertise and knowledge to the board. London’s roads, river and rails are the life-blood of our city.”

Johnson said the three would “work their socks off to ensure Londoners and visitors to our great city enjoy a vibrant, reliable and pleasant public transport system. We will now consider all of the applications to join the board and I look forward to announcing its final composition later in the summer.”
