Lawyers say fire authority members can refuse to sell stations below market value

Earlier this month members of the the London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority (LFEPA) sought legal advice after Boris Johnson indicated he was minded to oder them to sell the former Silvertown, Southwark Bridge Road and Bow fire stations for less than the best offer.

Boris Johnson is considering asking Government Ministers to allow him to treble the number of appointments he’s allowed to make to the capital’s fire authority (LFEPA). The Mayor also wants Ministers to cut the number of Assembly Members and Councillors who sit on the 17-strong authority.
